How does it work?

A double hung window has two sashes that slide up and down so that at maximum, less than half the window area is open.  With Fold Up window, the two sashes are hinged and balanced such that when fully open, up to 80% of the window area is open.   Besides allowing far more air flow, this can also provide a unique solution for certain egress applications.
